MILANO CORTINA 2026 ORGANISING COMMITTEE UNVEILS ITS OFFICIAL MOTTO
The Organising Committee of the 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games has this week unveiled the event’s official motto: ‚IT’s Your Vibe‚, described as a dynamic concept that places people at the centre of the Games.
According to the Organising Committee: „‚IT’s Your Vibe‘ symbolises the shared energy that defines the spirit of the Games and allows each person to find their own connection with the event„.
And adds:
“The 2026 Games will be a great shared experience that will celebrate the energy, passion, and connection between people. ‚IT’s Your Vibe‘ is also a communication ecosystem that adapts to each story and emotion, making everyone who loves the Games protagonists.“
One of the motto’s novel features is its versatility.
As a modular concept and, depending upon the message to be conveyed, it is claimed that it can transform phrases like ‚IT’s Talent – IT’s Your Vibe‚ to highlight the athletes‘ skill; or ‚IT’s Creativity – IT’s Your Vibe‚ to focus on imagination.
It can also reflect the excitement and intensity of the competition with expressions like ‚IT’s Energy – IT’s Your Vibe‚.
The ‚IT‘ element not only refers to its meaning in English but also alludes to Italy and, at the same time, to Milano Cortina 2026.
Again, according to the Organisers:
„It captures the values, style, and DNA of the Games and the communities that will host them. ‚IT’s Milan – IT’s Your Vibe‘, ‚IT’s Cortina – IT’s Your Vibe‘ and many other variants will allow expressing the identity of each venue and each sport within the same unifying spirit.“
The motto will also apply to the winter sports, allowing combinations, such as ‚IT’s Figure Skating – IT’s Your Vibe‚ or ‚IT’s Para Alpine Skiing – IT’s Your Vibe‚, thereby highlighting the diversity of the sporting disciplines that form part of the Games. Additionally, it can reflect fundamental Olympic values, such as inclusion, sustainability, and excellence.
Furthermore, claim the Organisers:
„Wherever it is used, the motto will be a symbol of unity and shared excitement. Everyone in the world will be able to recognise themselves in the Games and make them their own.“
The Milano Cortina Winter and Paralympic Games will take place from 6 to 22 February 2026 and it will be interesting to see the extent of the motto’s use as a marketing tool for promoting the Games.
