SWISS SPORT INTEGRITY FIRST DATA-SHARING AGREEMENT

It has been announced, on 28 October 2026, that the Canton of Aargau has become the first Swiss Canton to conclude a data-sharing agreement with Swiss Sport Integrity (SSI).

On 9 September 2026, the Canton of Aargau and the SSI Foundation signed an agreement requiring the latter to provide copies of its decisions concerning sports in Aargau.

This enables the cantonal authorities—where appropriate—to review these cases and take their own administrative legal measures against the offending individual or organisation.

The Canton of Aargau is the first Swiss Canton to have adapted its legal framework for the promotion of sport, ensuring that data provided by SSI can be processed specifically for this purpose.

The primary objective of this collaboration is to promote sport based on ethical values and principles.

In particular, it aims to foster and sustainably strengthen a healthy, respectful, and fair approach to sports participation.
