{"id":24893,"date":"2025-11-07T16:14:00","date_gmt":"2025-11-07T15:14:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/valloni.ch\/2025\/11\/07\/isu-statement-on-kamila-valieva-case\/"},"modified":"2025-11-07T16:14:15","modified_gmt":"2025-11-07T15:14:15","slug":"isu-statement-on-kamila-valieva-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/valloni.ch\/de\/2025\/11\/07\/isu-statement-on-kamila-valieva-case\/","title":{"rendered":"ISU STATEMENT ON KAMILA VALIEVA CASE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-24513\" src=\"https:\/\/valloni.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/tf_ete_1_pt.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"251\" \/>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ISU Statement on Swiss Federal Tribunal decision regarding Kamila Valieva appeal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>6 November 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The International Skating Union (ISU) takes note of the decision rendered by the Swiss Federal Tribunal on 8 October 2025, rejecting Ms. Kamila Valieva\u2019s application for a revision of the award issued by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on 29 January 2024 (read\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.isu.org\/news\/isu-statement-decision-of-cas-kamila-valieva-roc-2\/\">here<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>As a result of this decision, the ISU Council confirms that the official ranking of the ISU European Figure Skating Championships 2022 in Tallinn, Estonia, is reallocated as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1st \u2013 Anna Shcherbakova (RUS)<\/li>\n<li>2nd \u2013 Alexandra Trusova (RUS)<\/li>\n<li>3rd \u2013 Loena Hendrickx (BEL)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The ISU will proceed with the reallocation of medals in due time.<\/p>\n<p>This marks the conclusion of a long and challenging process for the athletes involved. The ISU wishes to express its appreciation for their patience, professionalism, and resilience throughout this period. The ISU is pleased that these skaters will now receive the recognition and medals they rightfully deserve.<\/p>\n<p>The ISU remains firmly committed to safeguarding the integrity of skating and ensuring fair competition. This commitment was reaffirmed during the 2024 ISU Congress and is a cornerstone of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/isudam.blob.core.windows.net\/isudamcontainer\/ISU-VISION-2030-1754649705-0879.pdf?utm_source=isuweb&amp;utm_medium=corpsite&amp;utm_campaign=vision2030corpsite\">ISU Vision 2030<\/a>\u00a0strategy. Together with all stakeholders, the ISU will continue to take comprehensive measures to promote clean sport and to protect the physical and mental well-being of all athletes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>COMMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the appeal before the Swiss Federal Supreme Court, lawyers representing Valieva submitted an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ap.org\/news-highlights\/spotlights\/2024\/stop-that-urgently-possible-path-to-innocence-for-russian-skater-was-held-back-at-wadas-urging\/\">Associated Press news article<\/a>\u00a0from September 2024 claiming that the World Anti-doping Agency (WADA) had engaged in \u201c<em>procedural fraud<\/em>\u201d to suppress evidence.<\/p>\n<p>The article detailed experiments caried out in 2022 by a veteran scientist, at the request of Russian anti-doping officials, which suggested that contamination was not impossible.<\/p>\n<p>Five Swiss Federal Judges held in their ruling that the fresh arguments by Valieva\u2019s team were conjecture and highly questionable, whilst the scientist\u2019s report was not conclusive evidence.<\/p>\n<p>Valieva has been allowed to resume training ahead of her ban which will expire in December 2025.
